Universal Studios Hollywood's Commitment to Staying "Green"
Family Friendly Eco-Fair Returns on Saturday, April 26th in Honor of Earth Day
The Eco-Fair is a free, family-friendly event at the Theme Park entrance that features vivid "green" exhibits and fresh ideas for environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Join the fun, as over 30 engaging displays at the Eco-Fair will keep kids and adults entertained by offering "hands-on" lessons using bugs, purses made from recycled billboards, instruction on how to construct a solar-powered building, just to name a few.

Universal Studios and The City and County of Los Angeles is also offering a one-day mobile collection event for residents of the City and County.

Guests bringing at least one item for safe disposal can enjoy free parking on Saturday, April 26 after their drop-off.

Other Highlights:

  • Free tree shades will be available on a first come, first serve basis to local families.
  • Free parking for Hybrid vehicles will be available during the week of activities.
  • The Eco-Fair is free, but does not include admission to the park.
As part of its commitment to environmental responsibility, did you know that at Universal Studios Hollywood:

  • 100% of all cardboard is recycled
  • All restaurant/kitchen cleaning processes now use eco-friendly cleaning products and methods
  • The largest solar paneling system in any Studio/Theme Park has been installed and results in saving enough power to sustain 1,396 homes for a day
  • The new Simpsons attraction (opening in 2008) will employ energy conservation measures by incorporation of "on demand" hydraulic power system and use of energy efficient lighting systems
  • We've equipped our trams with cleaner burning diesel technologies to reduce greehouse gas emissions
  • Recycled water is used for all of its landscape maintenance and park wash downs
Green Seal
Universal Studios Hollywood was recently honored with the EMA (Environmental Media Association) Green Seal Award, the first-ever given to a theme park, for its dedication and effort in working towards a more environmentally conscious workplace and community.
