A day at Universal Studios Hollywood™ is all about having a blast as a group. Whether it’s a family outing or a whole party of friends, they’ll become a photo-ready entourage as they walk down the red carpet and, once inside, they can become anything from a team of freedom fighters in Transformers™: The Ride – 3D to friendly competitors at the sideshow games in Super Silly Fun Land.
However, escaping dinosaurs, dragons, or walkers is a tall order, and sometimes too tall for little ones. Sometimes there’s a member of the team that’s a bit too young for the heights of adventure inside the park. What to do if you don’t want to split up the squad? Simple – switch it up!
Child switch is a program in place at all attractions that ensures the entire group can hang together without missing a beat or losing their place in queues. If a child in the group can’t ride the attraction – maybe they’re too small, or fast asleep, or just not feeling the adventure – one or two adults can step out of line with them and wait in a child switch area while the rest of the group boards the attraction. When the other members of the party return, they can stay with the little one and the others can step right up to board the ride without any extra wait or starting over. It’s a cinch to switch!
Each attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood offers child switch ride beside the boarding area for the ride itself. Just notify a Universal Team Member and they’ll be glad to guide your team to both child switch and back into the main queue when the time comes. And presto: then it’s your time to brave a T-Rex, a horde of mummies, and beyond… if you dare, of course.
And of course, there are many options throughout the park for the whole family to enjoy, including attractions that are suitable for kids under 40 inches with a supervising adult, like Silly Swirly Fun Ride at Super Silly Fun Land, or the World-Famous Studio Tour, which has no height restriction at all. Little ones can splash around with their family at Super Silly Fun Land’s water features, catch a family-friendly show like Universal’s Animal Actors, or meet some of their favorite famous faces for an unforgettable photo op. So keep the group together to play and explore together, and child switch has you covered for easy tag-ins and tag-outs. And in a few years, the little ones’ time to heed the call to adventure will come. After all… adventurers grow up so fast!
